Ask a Question

Scientists start with curiosity. Pick something you genuinely wonder about. It can be simple: which paper airplane design flies farther, which surface makes a toy car roll fastest, or what helps a plant grow stronger. A good question gives your brain a target.

What changes? What stays the same? What can I measure?

Make a Prediction

A hypothesis is just an educated guess. You are not trying to be perfect — you are putting your best prediction into words before you test it. Write it down so you can compare what you expected with what actually happened.

I think [what you will change] will cause [what you expect to happen] because [your reason].

Test and Observe

Design a simple test. Change one thing, keep everything else as steady as you can, and write what you notice. The result does not have to match your prediction. Scientists learn from what actually happens.
