Download and Install Blender

Blender is free and works on Mac, Windows, and Linux. Go to blender.org and download the latest version. Run the installer — it takes about 2 minutes.

Explore the Blender Interface

When Blender opens you will see the 3D Viewport in the center, the Timeline at the bottom, and the Properties panel on the right. Spend 10 minutes just clicking around — you cannot break anything.

Move Your First 3D Object

Click on the grey cube in the center of the viewport. Press G to grab it, then move your mouse — the cube follows. Click to place it. Press G then X to move only on the X axis. Press G then Z to move only up and down.

G — Grab G + X — Move X G + Z — Move Z Esc — Cancel

Complete all three steps first.
